Visit by Prof. Maria Vodenicharova from the University of National and World Economy in Sofia
From June 22 to 26, 2026, the Faculty of Management at the University of Białystok had the pleasure of hosting Prof. Maria Vodenicharova, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Research Activity at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia (Bulgaria), who visited under the Erasmus+ Staff Mobility program.
The visit provided an excellent opportunity to deepen academic cooperation and hold substantive discussions regarding research activities, the organization of the educational process, and the functioning of modern higher education institutions. The meetings took place in an atmosphere of open dialogue, fostering the exchange of experiences and best practices in conducting research, the internationalization of higher education, and the development of international cooperation.
During the visit, discussions focused on the potential for joint research and educational initiatives, as well as prospects for expanding cooperation between the University of Białystok and the University of National and World Economy. Particular attention was paid to issues related to organizing research projects, developing academic mobility, and the challenges facing modern universities in a rapidly changing social and economic environment.
A significant aspect of the visit was the opportunity to learn about the specific operations of both institutions and to exchange experiences stemming from their differing organizational and cultural contexts. The meetings created a space for inspiring discussions, comparing implemented solutions, and identifying potential areas for future scientific and educational collaboration.
The visit program also included a presentation of the University of Białystok’s infrastructure. Prof. Maria Vodenicharova toured the university campus, learned about the activities of the University Nature Centre, and met with Ms. Anna Maj, Head of the International Cooperation Department. During the meeting, the parties discussed opportunities to further develop cooperation within the Erasmus+ programme and other international initiatives.
We hope that Prof. Maria Vodenicharova’s stay in Białystok was not only a valuable professional and academic experience but also an opportunity to get to know our city, its academic character, and the hospitality of the University of Białystok community. We are confident that the contacts established will help further strengthen cooperation between the two universities and lead to future joint undertakings.
