Digital accessibility

The University of Bialystok declares to ensure the accessibility of its website in accordance with the Act of 4 April 2019 on digital accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public entities. The accessibility statement shall apply to the University of Bialystok's website and the University of Bialystok's Public Information Bulletin.

The website and the Public Information Bulletin are partially compliant with the Act on Digital Accessibility of Public Entity Websites and Mobile Applications due to incompatibilities or exemptions listed below.

There are videos on the websites for which subtitles have not been added for deaf and hard of hearing persons. Subtitles are being added successively to older films.

Everyone has the right to request the accessibility of the website, the mobile application or any element thereof. It is also possible to request information in alternative forms, such as reading a digitally unavailable document, describing the content of a film without an audio description, etc. The request should include the identity of the person making the request, an indication of which website or mobile application is involved and the way in which he or she can be contacted. If the person requests information in an alternative form, he or she should also specify the form of that information.

The public entity should comply with the request immediately and no later than within 7 days. If it is not possible to meet this deadline, the public entity shall immediately inform when it will be possible to comply with the request, but this deadline shall not be longer than 2 months. If it is not possible to ensure accessibility, the public entity may propose an alternative way to access the information.

In case an entity refuses to comply with a request for accessibility or alternative access to information, a complaint may be made against such action.

Architectural accessibility

The Faculty of Management of the University of Białystok, ul. Warszawska 63, 15-062 Białystok.

The building is accessed by the main entrance from Warszawska Street and 4 emergency entrances:

  1. from the side of the main car park (exit to the basement) A,
  2. entrance from the patio (door to the library premises) B,
  3. entrance from the patio to the building by the gatehouse C,
  4. entrance from the side of the slope (external door to the Student Council rooms) D.

Upon entering the building (lobby), there is a stained glass window (236 x 180 cm) and, visible on the left, a ramp for the disabled equipped with a handrail.

A separate glass-enclosed reception area is located in a central position on the ground floor.

Also on the ground floor (left corridor) is the entrance to the lift for people with disabilities (it is an external lift with access from the inside of the building). The cabin is equipped with a handrail and control panels (buttons) - 2 floors, illuminated and has voice information about the number of the floor on which it is located.

It has 3 floors, without thresholds on each level. Wide staircases with wooden handrails lead to the individual levels.

The passageways are wide enough to allow two-way traffic. The corridor furnishings do not impede mobility. There are rest areas in the corridors. A disabled toilet is located on the ground floor. The doors of all rooms are marked with pictograms.

One parking space each has been designated for people with disabilities in both car parks.

It is possible to enter the building and all its rooms with an assistance dog and a guide dog.
