We would like to inform you that in accordance with the agreement signed on 3.04.2024 by the Ministry of Science, we are starting the implementation of the research and implementation project Competencies for Industry 4.0 ( KP4.0) (NdS-II/SP/0490/2024/01) under the Science for Society II programme, with a total value of PLN 450,000.

The project aligns with two key research areas of the UwB Faculty of Management - competencies and competency gaps and the development and management of cluster development in Poland.

The project will be implemented in partnership with two National Key Clusters - the Evoluma Industrial Cluster and the Polish Construction Cluster.

The economic development of the country depends, among other factors, on the ability to transform Polish industry to the conditions of the Economy 4.0. Support for this process by the human resources of enterprises is especially important. The problem, both in practical and scientific terms, is currently the adaptation of the competencies of these personnel to the needs of the new stage of the industrial revolution. It should be emphasised that the proposed scope of the project is the result of a detailed recognition of the needs of enterprises associated within the Evoluma Industrial Cluster and the Polish Construction Cluster (PKB) - National Key Clusters. This recognition is a result of the previous joint projects and/or Evoluma/PKB projects in which the employees of the Faculty of Management have participated.

Key expected outcomes of the cooperative research and implementation project include:

• development of a comprehensive and universal method for analysing competence profiles in terms of gaps;
• the deepening of cooperation relations between UwB and business representatives in the field of research analysis in the area of competencies and cluster management;
• cross-sector networking in the implementation of research and implementation projects;
• development of UwB's scientific and cooperative potential with industry; facilitation of the transformation of KOM and GDP member enterprises towards Industry 4.0;
• increase the competitiveness of KOM enterprises, GDP and Polish industry.

The assumptions of the project are part of the building of cooperation between the academic unit (UwB) and socio-economic actors (Evoluma, GDP, KKK members, vocational counsellors).

The person responsible for managing the project will be Dr Mariusz Citkowski, Assistant Professor at the Department of Strategic Management of the Faculty of Management at the University of Bialystok.
